 Students will mostly be able to:

 
 Instantly know subtraction answers within 10 eg: 9-4=?      7-?=3 

 Identify all the numbers up to 100 eg: That says 57. 

 Count forwards and back within 100 eg: 0,1,2,3,4...      100, 99, 98, 97... 
       

Skip count forwards and back in 2s, 5s, 10 up to 100
eg: 0,2,4,6...       100, 98, 96, 94


Answer questions about the number of 10s in decades
eg: There are 7 tens in 70.


Answer questions about adding decades within 100 eg: 30+?=100


Instantly questions about doubles and halves within 20
eg: 7 doubled is? (14)       Half of 18 is? (9)


Answer addition and subtraction questions using 10
eg: 10+?=12         17-?=7             3+10=?           18-10=?


Instantly answer addition questions within 20 eg: 12+?=20         15+5=?


Order numbers within 100 eg:
Put these numbers in order beginning with the smallest: 64, 17, 98   (17,64,98) 


Say the number before and after a number within 100 eg:
The number before 77 is 76 and the number after 77 is 78.   


Read and write 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 1/5 Continue patterns
eg: red, blue, white, red, blue, white... What would the next colour be?


Compare length, weight, volume, time and temperature using self-chosen units eg:
I can use the same sized pieces of train track to measure books. The smallest book is less than a piece of track and the largest book is 6 and a bit pieces of track.


Give directions using language such as 'quarter turn' 
eg: Play hunt the thimble: take 2 steps forward, make a quarter turn...
eg: Draw a picture from instructions: draw three birds above two trees. To the right of the trees draw a car. 


Read a simple graph
eg: On a graph about how many books boys and girls have read I can work out the total number of books read. I know how many more books the boys read than the girls.
