I am Amelia. I have a husband Kieron who is amazingly supportive of me and our 2 wonderfully lively children. Hazel our dancing obsessed, fun loving girl is in Year 6 at Green Bay. Sebastian is our full of life and lovingly natured boy who has just turned 5 years old and started at Green Bay School this term. After his first 2 days, he summed up our awesome school perfectly “It is fun, school is the best place ever”.
I am the current Board Chairperson at Green Bay School and I find it an absolute honour to be trusted with such a role within the current Board team, which has achieved so much in the past 3 years, with numerous exciting projects coming up.
I am a fully Registered Teacher and I’ve been working within the Early Childhood Education profession in numerous roles from relieving to teaching to Manager over the past 19 years. Through being on the Board for the past 3 years and my many in the Education sector, I have experience with the Education Review Office and the Ministry of Education. I have enjoyed organising and being on the School Pool Committee over the summer months for a few years now. My latest addition of things to do is Co-ordinator of a dance competition committee which goes alongside my dance costume sewing that I do as a hobby that occasionally pays.
I enjoy time with family and friends and try to make the most out of the little things in life. I like people and helping where I can, sometimes with a sad realisation that I can’t do everything. We moved to Green Bay 8 years ago and to have found such a gem like Green Bay School and community was a very lucky stumble [Symbol]
I’m simply a parent who wants to give my time, efforts and expertise to Green Bay School. I believe I can represent the interests of the children, school and parents and it would be privileged to do so. I have a real passion for education, and I am motivated to achieve the best results for all of our children.
