Hello, my name is Catherine Rochford.
My husband Joe and I have lived in Green Bay for the past 6 years, having moved to New Zealand from the UK in 2007. We currently have 2 children at our amazing school, Sophie in Year 4 and William in Year 1.
Since joining Green Bay in 2015, my family has enjoyed being part of the wonderful school community. I am currently the chairperson of the school fundraising team, and have enjoyed leading the team to raise money to provide extra resources for the staff and students. I am on the organising committee for the upcoming school gala.
I am an Associate and Project Manager at a large international engineering company. I project manage many multi-disciplinary projects which are helping shape the future of Auckland. In my role I manage large budgets and teams of people as well as presenting to risk committees. I enjoy working collaboratively with my project teams who all have different professional backgrounds. I am known at work for getting stuff done! One of the projects I am currently working on is looking at new transport networks to support Auckland’s growth – however I love our local transport network and enjoy participating in the Walking School Bus every week.
I believe all our children deserve the best opportunities, support and resource that we can provide, whilst fostering a strong relationship between the school, families and wider community. We need to support our students both academically, whilst also supporting the growth and development of other talents, be it sport, music, art or languages.
I see one of the many roles of the Board is to support the school to provide as many of these opportunities as possible. I am very proud to be part of Green Bay School board and the opportunity to work together with the other Board members to continue the excellent work already happening within our school. I believe I can bring to the board my experience in project management, leadership skills, a huge amount of motivation and a strong passion to help all our children reach their full potential.
