Hello I’m Dilip Patel.
My wife Rebecca & I have lived in Green Bay for over 12 years. We currently have 2 children at Green Bay School, our daughter Milla in year 4 & our son Brennym is in year 8. It is great to see the children grow up with so much confidence & such positive attitudes attributed from the school. We enjoy the great community that Green Bay is. Having lived in West Auckland for over 40 years.
I am fortunate and thankful to have been a member on the Green Bay School Board of Trustees for the past 3 years. I believe through the work the board of trustees do, I have seen the school, students, staff & community, grow and excel in a positive direction.
As the current Board Finance Chairperson, I have been privileged to work with the board on school finances, budgets, and expenditure. To ensure the school, students, & staff have all requirements met to provide a safe learning environment and obtain excellent performance and results.
Being a self-employed Financial Adviser, I operate my own mortgage broker business in Green Bay from our home office, having done so for the past 6 years. I have had previous financial experience as a business & commercial manager with over 18yrs within NZ Banking.
Due to the flexibility of my job, I have had the opportunity to help many Green Bay locals with home loan and financial advice. This has also given me the time to spend with our children and helping around the school and community. Being involved in school activities such as attending some of the school trips, school camps, along with helping at school events and sponsoring the school. I have also coached my son’s soccer team.
We are very lucky in New Zealand to have the ability to closely manage our school and determine issues such as long-term plans and the implementation of the curriculum.
I enjoy assisting and sharing my knowledge to ensure that Green Bay School continues to do its utmost to help all pupils and families. A school where the pupils are provided with the opportunities and resources to learn to the best of their abilities, that staff are supported in their roles, and that the Board members do their best to assist the school staff continue to work to their full potential.
